Our beautiful coast welcomes world angling event

Many of the world's top anglers have arrived into the area after the build-up to one of the county's most anticipated events. 

The World Shore Angling Championships is running until October 27th in various locations throughout Conwy including locations in the Bay of Colwyn and this year will be the Men's 35th and the Women's 26th competition.

Celebrations got off to a breath taking start with an impressive Conwy medieval welcome for competitors and supporting fans. The Torch-lit parade welcomed 20 countries to the town The medieval style performers dotted around the town with knights on horseback, fire-eaters, acrobats, sword-fighters, and court jesters.

Already the action has begun with the Ladies Practise rounds and briefings at the team headquarters in Llandudno. 

This year's organising committee consists of representatives of the Welsh Federation of Sea Anglers, the Welsh Teams, and Conwy County Borough Council.
