A recent pop in session held at the Town Hall on Rhiw Road was deemed a wonderful opportunity to meet the new Mayor of Colwyn Cllr Stephen Williams.
The open meeting on May 24th was principally opened up to residents of the borough as a forum to discuss the future role of Community and Town Councils.
The session formed a wider consultation which is currently being undertaken by senior politicians in Wales.
The consultation will be examining what could learnt from the high performing community councils and give consideration to how the Welsh Government might support all community councils in to this space. This includes consideration of the support that community councils might need, but also the flexibility that would help them go further in their ambitions for local communities.
