Network She are teaming up with Adventure Parc Snowdonia to deliver the Women in Sport North Wales Conference next Tuesday.
Following on from the success of the inaugural conference last year, this exciting one-day conference will continue the mission to empower participation and forge the future of women and young girls in North Wales
According to research carried out by Sport Wales, there is still a huge gender gap in sport participation in the UK.
Around two million fewer 14-40 year-old women than men engage regularly in a sport or activity. That’s despite the fact that 75% of women and girls saying that they want to be more active.
Network She and the Network She Foundation are passionate about supporting women and girls in sport, and are thrilled to be bringing this years Women in Sport North Wales conference back to Adventure Park Snowdonia for the second time.
The aim of the conference is to empower participation by introducing the extensive range of sports and activities that are accessible and available in the region and ultimately, to forge the future health and well-being of women and girls in North Wales.
Attendees will get to meet those women who have got off the couch and given it a go, overcome adversity or haven’t let their disability stop them from being the best they can be.
The Women in Sport North Wales Conference 2019 is another example of the support network developed by Network She to empower participation in sport for women and young girls, irrelevant of age and ability.
Organisers have said theywant the event to be inclusive and open to everyone but have asked that everyone who attends brings an item of sport clothing or kit, new or used to donate to the community sport and activity groups across North Wales.
On Tuesday inspiring guest speakers from the world of professional sport will explore a number of themes across a fun, engaging and thought-provoking day.
The day will conclude with an opportunity to try out surfing and some of the new and exciting additions to the new Adventure Parc Snowdonia in Dolgarrog which was formerly known as Surf Snowdonia.
