Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has been re-adopted to be the Welsh Conservative candidate in next year’s Welsh Parliament elections.

Members of Clwyd West Conservative Association reaffirmed their support for Mr. Millar during a virtual meeting.

Speaking afterwards he said: “I am very grateful to Welsh Conservative members in Clwyd West for re-adopting me to be their candidate in next year's Welsh Parliament elections.

“It has been a real privilege to serve the people of Clwyd West since 2007 and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to fight to continue doing so."

Darren was first elected to the Welsh Parliament in May 2007 and was returned to the Senedd in 2011 and 2016 with increased majorities at each election.

Having been brought up in Towyn, he now lives in Kinmel Bay with his wife Rebekah and their two children, Mary and Toby.

Mr. Millar currently serves on the Welsh Conservative front bench as Chief Whip and Shadow Minister for External Affairs.

He also acts as the Policy Director for the Welsh Conservatives in the Welsh Parliament and serves as Vice Chair Policy on the Welsh Conservative Party Board.
