The much celebrated about 'Back In' programme supporting ex-forces personnel and their families in the Colwyn Bay and Conwy area continued last week with the holding of a Mental Health first aid course at Porth Eirias.

The course which is a major part of the programme was attended by 15 partcipants who became Mental Health First Aiders over the two day course ran by Andy Graham and his Manchester based company MHFA 999.

Delegates learnt the skills and confidence needed to recognise the warning signs of mental health issues and how to support someone when they are in crisis. The course taught strategies to help save lives and end the stigma of mental health.

'Back In' continues on Thursday October 11th at 3pm with an Armed Forces Community Mindfulness Course at Colwyn Bay Library. There is also a Creative Writing Course planned on Friday October 12th and Community Arts in Well-Being programme on Monday October 15th.

The programme has been set up with stakeholders, organisations and partners from across the region thanks to the work done by Jason Palmer and the team at Veterans Hub Conwy CVSC.
