Local business to have their say about skills training

June 05, 2019 - 1238 views

Businesses are being urged to take part in a study that will shape the future of skills and training in North Wales.

The North Wales Skills Partnership launched a survey aimed at helping companies across the region to access better services and support that will facilitate staff development.

The deadline has been extended so people now have until June 21 to participate.

Sian Lloyd Roberts, Regional Skills Manager for the Partnership, encouraged firms to have their say.

“This short online survey will not only provide us with a baseline of the challenges and gaps that are facing businesses around skills, training and workforce development, but the results will also be used to inform our Skills and Employment Plan for the region, which is used by Welsh Government to steer the process of funding further education courses and work based learning,” said Ms Lloyd Roberts.

“As with any survey, the data is only as good as the number of people who have responded so we need as many companies as possible to please fill in and share the study so we can get a better indication of their needs.”

She added: “This is a real opportunity asan employer to share with the North Wales Regional Skills Partnership (RSP) your views about what gaps there are, what training you need for your workforce, how we can tackle any issues and build on best practice already in place.

“It will only take 10 minutes to complete but will have a bearing on thousands of individuals and businesses in North Wales for many years to come.”

The North Wales Regional Skills Partnership is one of three skills Partnerships in Wales that work with organisations to understand their needs from a skills perspective.
