A special screening to mark the contribution that the late Terry Jones made to Colwyn Bay life will be happening tomorrow (Friday 21st February).

The death of the much loved actor, writer and comedian saddened the community after he had been suffering from ill health.

He passed away from complications of dementia on 21st January, 12 days short of his 78th birthday, at his home in Highgate, North London.

In a special screening of the Monty Python film The Life of Brian, money will be raised for research into neurological conditions. The screening of the film which Terry acted and directed will be introduced by distinguished producer and theatre patron Celyn Jones.

A small number of tickets remain for this tribute screening and they can be obtained in return for a donation.

Terry was born in Colwyn Bay in February 1942 and always had his heart in Wales, despite leaving as a young boy.

In 2011 he took a keen interest in the fortunes of Theatr Colwyn, becoming its patron after it officially re-opened after a £738,000 refurbishment.

In 2016, Terry received a Lifetime Achievement award at the BAFTA Cymru Awards for his outstanding contribution to television and film.
