Colwyn Bay gets sets to officially begin festive celebrations with two family friendly events at the end of this month.

On Friday November 30th a sparkling Christmas lights switch on is planned for the town followed the following day by the launch of the seasonal pantomime Dick Whittington.

The big switch on will run from 4pm until 9pm featuring a Christmas Fayre with wooden chalets, a giant Christmas snow globe and Santa in his grotto.

The lights are due to be switched on by comedian turned panto star Stuart Loughland who is one of the stars in the Colwyn Bay pantomime.

On Saturday December 1st at 10am there is a warm family welcome to Theatr Colwyn to launch this year's pantomime, Dick Whittington.

Cast members will be there to entertain and talk about this year's production, followed by a free film screening of Luis & the Aliens. Plus after the show children can visit Father Christmas in the gallery grotto for a selfie with the big man himself.

Limited tickets are available for the pantomime launch by calling the Box Office at Venue Cymru on 01492 872000.
