A Preparatory School netball side continued their incredible start to the season with a high-profile tournament victory.

Rydal Penrhos’ U11 squad recently competed at the Urdd Conwy Championships, where they tested their skills against some of the best young talent in the region on Friday, February 15, with a place at the national finals at stake.

The Prep School stars produced a series of impressive displays throughout the 13-team tournament, and they managed to achieve a 100 per cent record to emerge as Urdd Conwy Champions.

Their dominance was further reflected in their scoring differential during the showcase, which saw Rydal Penrhos scored 32 and conceded just one.

This is the second time in three years that the school’s U11 side has secured the Urdd Conwy title, with the 2017 squad also achieving the same feat.

The current group of hopefuls will now begin preparation in the hope of making their presence felt on the national stage at the Urdd Championships in May.

Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “This was a marvellous effort from our U11 netball squad, who displayed an incredible amount of determination and cohesion to see them triumph in a difficult competition to win.

“They have all worked tirelessly with our Head of Girls’ Games Jude Pyves in the lead-up to the competition, and everyone at Rydal Penrhos is absolutely thrilled with their achievement and their level of performance during the initial stages of the season.”
