Increased risk of icy conditions on the North Wales coast

January 06, 2021 - 742 views

As temperatures drop across the North Wales coast from later on Wednesday into Thursday morning, the Met Office has issued a yellow 'be-aware' weather warning.

Tonight (Wed 6th January) temperatures are expected to drop to minus 3 degrees celcius in the Conwy area.

However, the likelihood of ice forming in places and roads from 5pm on Thursday through until 11am on Friday morning will increase significantly, due to rainfall expected during Thursday afternoon.

Injuries from slips and falls will increase and the risk of black ice of untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths could make some travel hazardrous.
