Hospice gift cards that make a real difference this Christmas

Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices have created a special Christmas Gift Card after requests from supporters.

The gift cards, which feature a beautiful photograph of Oliver who is cared for at the hospices, give supporters the opportunity to make a donation of £10, £25 or £50 to the hospices in lieu of a buying gift.

Fundraising Co-ordinator Lynsey Kilvert explained that they had been created as a result of supporters wanting to make donations in the names of friends and relatives for Christmas.

“So many people have approached us in this very difficult year to say that Christmas is going to be very different for them and their families this year and they have decided to make donations instead of buying each other gifts,” said Lynsey.

“It’s also an ideal way to send gifts through the post to people that you are unable to see in person this year.

“These lovely printed gift cards enable people to choose how much they would like to donate, and then receive a celebratory card that they can send to their friends or family to show them what their donation has sponsored.”

The £10 card enables activity boxes to be sent to children sheltering at home during the pandemic, while the £25 card helps to buy essential PPE to keep children and nurses safe at the hospices. The £50 card helps to fund specialist nurses to provide vital crisis care. In every case, 100% of the amount spent goes to the hospice.

All three gift cards are available from the hospices Fundraising Office by calling 01691 671671, or by making an online donation at www.hopehouse.org.uk/donate and selecting Gift Card from the drop-down menu.
