A Sixth Form pupil at Rydal Penrhos is set to pursue a career in Aerospace Engineering following some impressive university offers.

Oleksandr Sorokin, a Year 13 pupil at the school, has been rewarded for an outstanding application process with five conditional offers in his field at choice from further education establishments across the country.

The Ukranian boarder has a wealth of options available to him providing he receives the necessary examination results this summer, with Oleksandr securing a place at the University of Manchester on their Aerospace Engineering with Industrial Experience degree course.

He also managed to attain places at the University of Bath, the Institute for Materials and Processes at Edinburgh University and the University of Bristol, where he can study Aerospace Engineering.

This represents a significant achievement for the pupil, who has made the transition to Rydal Penrhos life incredibly well since joining at the start of his Sixth Form studies in 2017.

Oleksandr is a very strong academic who has also secured some notable achievements in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust’s Senior Challenge and British Olympiad.

Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “We are thrilled that Oleksandr has managed to achieve so many conditional university offers relating to a field he is incredibly passionate about and highly motivated to succeed in.

“He has worked so hard during his time at Rydal Penrhos and has really made the most out of our boarding experience, and hopefully this can result in the right results this summer.”
