Floodlight failure results in Seagull's early kick off

Following problems with floodlights during an important Boxing Day game at the Llanellian Road ground, Colwyn Bay Football Club has been forced to change the time of this Saturday's match (5th January).

After the lights failed causing a 20 minute delay to the second half in their game against Market Drayton on Boxing Day, the club has taken precautions to avoid a possible repeat of the problem.

As a result Saturday's match against Clitheroe has been brought forward by two hours and will now start at 1pm.

Engineers were called in to deal with the floodlight failure but unfortunately due to the holiday period, parts were not readily available. However these were promptly ordered with engineers expected to return to the club next week to complete the repair.

The club apologises for any inconvenience this may cause supporters but have stressed that they are anxious to avoid the game being abandoned should the lights fail again.

The League and Clitheroe FC have agreed to the earlier kick off in order to get the fixture completed.
