Pupils of the Ysgol Eirias Student Voice choose a different charity to raise funds for each academic year and this year they chose their local adult hospice.

St David’s Hospice provides high-quality, specialist palliative care free of charge, to patients with advanced illnesses, their family and carers.

Mr Dafydd Lloyd, who oversees the Student Voice at the High School said: “St David’s Hospice is a charity that is close to the hearts of a lot of students at the school. We hope the money raised makes a small difference to local families who St David’s support in our community.”

The money for the Hospice was raised through events such as non-school uniform days and a donation of £900 was presented to the Hospice’s Community Fundraiser, James Wilde.

James said: “Thank you so much to Ysgol Eirias for selecting St David’s Hospice to benefit from their non-school uniform days. I hope to work with the school more in the future and get students involved in our other fundraising activities.”
