Don't lose your chance to vote in Conwy County

Conwy Council has urged local residents not to lose their chance to vote now and in the future.

Household Enquiry Forms are currently hitting doorsteps across the county borough.

The aim is to make sure that the electoral register is up to date; for residents to check whether the information that appears on the electoral register for that address is correct, and if it isn’t, to make any necessary changes so that people don’t lose their right to vote; and to identify any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

Iwan Davies, Electoral Registration Officer at Conwy County Borough Council, said: “Anyone who wants to vote must be registered. To make sure you are able to have your say at the next election, simply check the form when it arrives.

“Make sure you respond as soon as you can, and encourage people you know to do the same, so that you don’t need to be sent a reminder. Last year, we had to spend nearly £10,000 on reminders and canvassers to chase-up forms.

The council are urging residents to respond by 5th September even if there are no changes. It’s quick and easy to do this online, by phone or by post - full details are on the form.
