Don't be tempted to drive to the snow say North Wales Police

December 30, 2020 - 797 views

As the risk of snow remains across Wales in the lead up to the New Year, Police forces across the country are warning people to stay at home and not risk breaking the law by travelling from outside their locality to view the snow capped mountains.

Yesterday Police reported many instances of visitors who had travelled from outside the area and were parked close to the Brecon Beacons.

Those that were found to have travelled across Wales and from outside the country were asked to leave, due to the Tier 4 Covid restrictions which only permit outside excercise and activity within a 'local to home' area.

North Wales Police and the Snowdonia National Park Authority have also asked local people to stick to the rules and obey the law in a bid to keep cases of the virus to as low a level as possible and not to make any unneccessary travel outside their locality.

For all the latest on the restrictions across Wales and a local perspective on what this means to people living in Conwy and Denbighshire, listen to Bayside Radio on 87.7 FM in the Bay of Colwyn and across North West Wales on DAB Digital Radio.
