Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Education has welcomed Welsh Government’s decision on next year’s GCSEs and A Levels arrangements.

Welsh Government Minister, Kirsty Williams, has announced earlier this week that GCSE and A Level students will not take examinations in May and June of next year. Pupils will instead receive grades based on assessments carried out in schools.

Councillor Julie Fallon, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Education said: “I’m pleased that this decision has been made, and Conwy’s young people now know what lies ahead and will be able to better prepare.

"We’ll work closely with our schools to provide the support they need to deliver the teacher-managed assessments.”
