Conwy RNLI lifeboat crew pagers were activated by the UK Coastguard yesterday amidst the ongoing activities of the Conwy Pirate Weekend.

The lifeboat launched to assist a 28ft power boat which was unable to safely enter Conwy due to engine failure.

The crew pagers were activated at 11:42am and the RNLI lifeboat The May-Bob launched with her volunteer crew of three minutes later.

The lifeboat made her way through the navigational channel to the last reported position given by UK Coastguard of the casualty vessel, where she was now kindly being assisted by a fellow pleasure craft reducing her drift.

Upon arrival, the lifeboat took over the tow and once established, the casualty vessel was safely navigated through the navigational channel to Conwy Marina.

With the casualty vessel now moored at her berth, the RNLI lifeboat crew were released by UK coastguard with thanks.

The lifeboat was back on station at 1pm where she was recovered, refuelled and made ready for service.
