Conwy Council's new offices open to the public

Today saw the public opening of the brand new Conwy Council offices in Colwyn Bay.

As the new base for some 750 employees, Coed Pella will enable the council to provide support for the people and businesses of Conwy as it brings together a range of services for the first time.

The development is part of the council’s wider modernisation programme, which also includes investing in schools and their infrastructure, and offering more services digitally.

Council leader Cllr Gareth Jones said: “Coed Pella is a big step forward for the way council services will be delivered in Conwy. It takes us away from having a disparate workforce in a number of buildings and unites a range of services together in one location. This is better for the very people who need to access our help and support – the people of Conwy.

“With the majority of our services eventually under one roof, there will be a much more personal feel. Residents who prefer face-to-face support will be able to come in and get advice pretty much straight away.”

A dedicated front of house team will be on hand to help with queries and to signpost residents to services that can best support them.  Partner agencies such as the local health board will also have space at Coed Pella.

Built by Bowmer & Kirkland, the building was developed by Muse Developments and funded by M&G Investments.
