A dramatic rescue was made by the RNLI late on Saturday night when a woman was rescued from the sea just off Colwyn Bay.

The lifeboat was called when a woman was reported to be clinging onto the remaining structure of the recently demolished Pier and in 'a very distressed and exhausted state'. She was immediately transfered to hospital for medical treatment and an examination.

Circumstances around how the woman ended up in the water remain unclear and authorities have been unable to release any further information.
