Colwyn Bay manager Craig Hogg is pleased to announce the appointment of locally-based coach Mark Orme as assistant manager for next season.

The 36-year-old, whose father was involved with the Bay for a time, has previously been coaching at Llandudno and was manager of the North Wales Coast FA team that played in the FAW Regions Cup in 2016-2018.

Hoggy commented: "With Neil Coverley now taking up the position as the club's Director of Football, and with the evolution of that role both in and out of the dressing room, it was important to recruit the right person and I feel we have done this with Mark's appointment. We both look forward to working with him.

"Mark is local, raised in Colwyn Heights, with many strong connections to the town and the area, and joins us with an excellent coaching pedigree.

"He is a progressive, forward thinking coach and one of the best in the North Wales region. He will add a great deal of value to the management team, along with physio Lisa Edwards who I'm also pleased to announce is carrying on  with her role at the club next season.

"The hard work has already started as we plan for life in Tier 2 in North Wales. There will be much to do before the season begins and the club will be making regular statements regarding players in the coming days and weeks."

Mark Orme commented: "I'm really pleased to be offered this opportunity at such an exciting time in Colwyn Bay's history.

"I spent many years watching the Bay growing up as my dad was involved with the club, so it is nice to be back as we move into the Welsh Football Pyramid.

"I have worked closely with Craig before at club level and we have also spent the last 12 months going through the UEFA A License course together with the FAW. I know the work ethic he has and the standards he sets in everything he does.

"He has done an excellent job at the Bay and I hope to now add to that as part of his staff.

"Tier 2 North is a league I know well and is one I think will be extremely competitive next season.

"There will be a number of ambitious teams in the division and some great fixtures to be involved with. I can't wait to get started and I'm really looking forward to pre-season and the challenge ahead."
