Colwyn Bay basks in the summer sun

July 26, 2018 - 1320 views

Colwyn Bay beach enjoyed one of the busiest summer days today after recording some of the best temperatures and weather in recent memory.

Scores of people crammed onto the beach to enjoy the sunshine whilst the car parks from Rhos-on-Sea to Porth Eirias were at bursting point. The Denbigshire Arts Festival which was held at Porth Eirias was said to be very busy.

Many retailers and cafe's in Rhos-on-Sea recorded an impressive rise in the number of people visiting with an equally impressive increase in money taken in their tills throughout the day. Horizon Shine which recently opened on the seafront saw queues of people waiting to sit and experience the continental vibe of their brand new cafe.

All of this comes on the back of the recent demolition of the former Pier and many years with stretches on the beach and seafront closed for re-development and regeneration. A recent report by Conwy County Borough Council highlighted the massive contribution that the seafront and Porth Eirias makes to the Colwyn Bay business economy and an upturn in positivity for the town.
