Once again one of North Wales favourite bistros has impressed judges at one of the country's most prestigous industry awards.

Last night the AA Hospitality Awards voted Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias the top restaurant in Wales at a lavish reception in London's Grosvenor Hotel.

The AA Hospitality Awards, presented by the BBC's Kate Silverton, recognised and rewarded the excellence of hotels, restaurants and their respective teams across the length and breadth of the UK.

The team from Colwyn Bay including Chef Aaron Broster took to the stage to collect the award.

This is what the judges had to say about the award winning restaurant:

"Floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of Colwyn Bay, and exposed steelwork, pendant lights and industrial-chic create the feeling of a hip, big-city eatery.

Bryn Williams made his name with big-name chefs and has been chef-patron of Odette's in London's Primrose Hill since 2008, so you can expect sharp modern British bistro ideas.

There is clear passion on the plate here with a real sense of keeping it real and local, well placed pricing ensures locals are as much part of this experience as is the ‘foodie’ traveller.

For us this restaurant is very much of the moment, bang on trend menus are served all day by staff who really understand food, and there are no rules, so you can do what you like: tuck into breakfast, graze over small plates at the bar, share a Sunday feast with family, watch the sun go down with friends – informality paired with quality food".
