Police are appealing for information following an increase in burglaries in the Rhyl and Colwyn Bay areas.
The burglaries took place over the Bank Holiday weekend. The first were during the early hours of Sunday morning, on Dyserth Road in Rhyl and Llandudno Road in Rhos-on Sea where high performance motor vehicles were targeted. The second spate took place during the early hours of Monday morning in Colwyn Bay, in the areas of Pen y Bryn Road and the Old Highway, where items including jewellery and cash were taken.
Detective Sgt Christopher Williams said: "Over recent days we've seen a rise in the number of burglaries, where the offenders have entered the properties through conservatories and insecure windows and doors.”
“We are currently keeping an open mind as to whether the incidents are linked. We ask people to be vigilant and look out for anyone acting suspiciously around their local areas, in particular those where the elderly are living. We are determined to catch those responsible, but we are reliant on public support and appeal to anyone with information to contact us immediately."
He added: “We are urging people to ensure they lock their doors and close their windows as opportunist thieves will take advantage of an insecure property, which can have a devastating effect.”
