The entire Rydal Penrhos school community are working hard to ensure that their an annual food drive is another success this year.

The collection for the Harvest Festival is now well underway, with the school seeking cans of dried or tinned foods to donate to two worthy causes.

Rev. Nick Sissons, Chaplain at Rydal Penrhos, said: “This year we will again be collecting food to support the work of the Methodist Children’s Charity ‘Action for Children’ who work with local families in need and teach much needed parenting skills.

“We shall also be supporting the Conwy Food Bank, who help supply families more generally in the area, who for many reasons cannot feed themselves and have to rely on the help of others. As usual, we are asking everyone across the school to participate either individually or through their forms.

“The need is still very great, and we would ask that every pupil become involved – whether it be individually or as a group – so that we can help those less fortunate than ourselves this autumn.”

The tins that are collected will be distributed between Action for Children and the Conwy Food Bank.

Food can be brought right up until the Harvest service this Friday (19th October) which will be on display during the end of half term celebration before being donated to the respective causes.

Collection boxes will be placed all this week in Senior Reception and in St John’s Church for anyone wishing to donate.
