War against drugs: Amlwch man is jailed for supply

A 31-year-old man has been jailed after over £13,000 worth of drugs were discovered in his car and storage container.

Ricky James Pritchard, of Maes Llwyn, Amlwch, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on 23 January after previously admitting to possession with intent to supply Class A and B substances and acquiring criminal property.

On 27 December, officers stopped a car being driven by Pritchard near to Amlwch Industrial Estate.

Upon searching his car, officers discovered a substantial amount of cocaine and cannabis resin.

Further searches were conducted in a storage container belonging to Pritchard which resulted in the discovery of a large amount of cash, cocaine, several pills and other items suggestive of drug supply.

Overall, the drugs seized were estimated to have a street value of around £13,600.

He was jailed for one year and four months.

District Inspector Wayne Francis said: "We continue to deliver on our commitment to target those who seek to bring drugs to Anglesey.

“Proactively stopping and searching individuals is just one way that we are targeting drug supply on the island to protect vulnerable community members.
