Adult Learners Week grows knowledge in Conwy

June 19, 2019 - 1190 views

Adult Learners Week is in full swing across Conwy with a series of events and initiatives to get local people expanding their knowledge and education.

It is an annual campaign coordinated by Learning and Work Institute in partnership with Welsh Government.

Now in over 55 countries worldwide, each year we see over 10,000 adults in Wales participating in Adult Learners’ Week activities.

The aim this campaign is to raise awareness of the value of adult learning, celebrate the achievements of learners and providers, and inspire more people to discover how learning can positively change their lives.

This is achieved by working with a host of private and public organisations on the promotion of free taster events, local outreach activities and short courses to prompt adults across the country into returning to learning.

Old Colwyn based Tape Community Music and Film are heavily involved in the initiative and are taking the edit of its latest feature film, ‘Approaching Shadows’ on tour. It will be an immersive session and help those interested in video production to  get their hands on with the edit of a feature film.

Adult learning can broaden horizons, build your networks and open doors, it’s your chance to make a fresh start.

Whether you are looking for a new direction, to brush up on your skills, improve your job opportunities, seek some advice and guidance on a qualification, or you may simply want to learn something new. Adult Learners’ Week is, free and for everyone.
