North Wales Police will be opening its doors to host their first ever ‘Spooktacular Halloween’ event during half term week.

Between 5:30pm and 8pm on Monday, October 29th the event, which is aimed at promoting safety around Halloween and Bonfire Night, will be held at Police Headquarters in Colwyn Bay whereby officers and staff will host an evening of spooky activities and competitions.

There will be an opportunity to meet representatives from the Police, Fire and Ambulance Service, the educational activity centre Dangerpoint as well as colleagues from Conwy County Borough Council’s Road Safety Unit.

Temporary Chief Constable Gareth Pritchard is, once again, looking forward to welcoming people to Police Headquarters. He said: “As well as it being a fun event our officers will be on hand to give out safety advice about keeping safe in the winter months – including securing your home as the evenings get darker.

“There will be a fancy dress competition so we are encouraging youngsters to wear their scariest costume and bring along their carved pumpkins. Entry is free and there will be lots of great prizes on offer, which have been kindly donated by local businesses for which we are grateful.

“The key to successful policing is strong links and support from the community, and events such as this help to achieve this. The event promises to be fun and enjoyable and gives us the opportunity to engage with local people, provide them with an insight into the work of the Force and raise awareness of staying safe at Halloween and Bonfire.”
